உரோம கத்தோலிக்க தெரசா இந்தியாவின் புகழுக்குரியவரா ? இவரின் இந்திய குறிக்கோள் என்ன ?

உரோம கத்தோலிக்க தெரசா இந்தியாவின் புகழுக்குரியவரா ? இவரின் இந்திய குறிக்கோள் என்ன ?

Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu ஆகிய உரோமன் கத்தோலிக்க இனத்தை சேர்ந்த தெரசா கருணையின் வடிவமாகவும் கடவுளாகவும் இந்தியர்களுக்கு காட்சியளிக்கிறார். இந்திய நோயாளிகளை அரவணைத்து ஆதரவு கொடுத்த இவருக்கு பாரத ரத்னாவும், நோபல் பரிசும் வழங்கபட்டது.

இவரது சில சேவைகள் பாராட்டுக்குரியவைகளாக வெளியே தெரிந்தாலும் இவரது உண்மையான இந்திய நோக்கம் (India Mission) என்ன ?

முதலில் இவருடைய சேவைகள் பற்றி கீழ்கண்ட கேள்விகள் எழும்புகின்றன.

1. உலகில் ஏழைகள் அனைத்து நாடுகளிலும் இருக்கும் போது, ஏன் இந்திய ஏழைகள் மட்டும் இவருடைய கண்களுக்கு தெரிந்தது ? இந்திய ஏழைகள் இவரிடம் சென்று சேவைகளை கேட்டார்களா ?

2. இந்தியா ஏழைகள் நிறைந்த நாடு, வறுமையில் சாகும் நாடு, இங்கு வாழும் மனிதர்கள் உணவு உண்ணவே தகுதியற்ற மடையர்கள் போன்ற பிரம்மையை மேற்கத்தியவர்களிடம் இவர் ஏன் உருவாக்கினார் ? இதை வைத்து இவருக்கு நிறைய பிச்சை பணம் கிடைத்ததா ? இதை இவர் எவ்வாறு பயன்படுத்தினார் ?

3. ஒரு நாடு விட்டு இன்னொரு நாடு வந்திருக்கும் போது, அங்குள்ள மக்களையும், மக்களின் நம்பிக்கைகளையும், மக்களின் கலாசாரத்தையும் மதித்து நடப்பது நாகரிகமல்லவா ? அதை விடுத்து தன்னுடைய கடவுள் தான் உண்மையான கடவுள் என்று கடவுள் போதனையை ஏன் துவக்கினார் ?

4. இவர் தன்னுடைய சொந்த நாட்டில் சொந்த ஊரில் இருந்த ஏழைகளையும் நோயாளிகளையும் முதலில் கவனித்தாரா ? ஏசு கிறிஸ்து இவர் கனவில் தோன்றி இந்தியர்களை குறிவைக்க தூண்டியதன் மர்மம் என்ன ?

5. உண்மையிலேயே ஏழைகளுக்கும், நோயாளிகளுக்கு உதவுவதற்கும், கடவுளுக்கும் என்ன சம்மந்தம் ? இதை அனைத்து கிறிஸ்தவர்களும் தங்களுக்கு கேட்டு கொள்ள வேண்டிய முக்கிய கேள்வி ?
ஏழைகளின் சேவையையும் கடவுளையும் ஏன் கலந்தார் ? இங்கு தான் அல்பானிய தெரசாவின் உண்மையான நோக்கம் வெளிப்படுகிறது.

6. இவர் 610 மிஷனரிகளை (மிஷனரியா இல்லை குள்ளநரியா) நிறுவியிருக்கிறார். சேவை செய்வதற்கு ஏன் மிஷனரிகளை நிறுவ வேண்டும் ? கடவுளை அப்புற வைத்து விட்டு சேவை செய்வதற்கு கடவுள் சாயமில்லாத தொண்டு நிறுவனங்கள் தானே நிறுவ வேண்டும் ?
ஆக மொத்தத்தில் இவருடைய குறிக்கோள், இந்திய நோயாளிகளுக்கு உதவுவது இல்லை என்பது வெட்ட வெளிச்சமாகிறது. ஏழைகளுக்கும், நோயாளிகளுக்கும் உதவுவதை ஒரு ஆயுதமாக கொண்டு தம்முடைய மதத்தை பரப்புவதே இவரது இந்திய நோக்கம். இவருடைய செய்கைகளுக்கு பேராதரவு அளித்தது மேற்கத்திய நாடுகள்.

மிஷனரி குள்ளநரிகள் மக்களுக்கு உதவும் தொண்டை மட்டுமா செய்து வருகிறார்கள் ? தொண்டு என்ற போர்வையில் அழிந்து வரும் கிறிஸ்தவ மதத்தை இந்தியாவில் பரப்புவதையே முழு நேர தொழிலாக கொண்டுள்ளன அனைத்து கிறிஸ்தவ மிஷனரி குள்ளநரிகளும்.

The following are cited from Arun Shourie's 302-page book, Missionaries in IndiaNew Delhi, ASA Publications, 1994):
"There was a deeper problem with these services, and Gandhijidrew attention to it again and again. The services were incidental.They were the means. The objective was to convert the nativesto Christianity. "The Collected Works of Gandhi" contain several accounts as do Mahadev Desai's "Diaries" in whichmissionaries acknowledged to Gandhiji that the institutions and services are incidental, that the aim is to gather a fuller harvest of converts for the Church.

"To gain acces to non-Christian households, counsels the 'Catholic Dharma ka Pracharak,' [How to Preach the Catholic Religion] the preacher should know something ofmedicine. He will then be sought after whenever there is some illness in the house. Once there, he should tryto prevail upon the parents that he should be allowed to baptize the child as the baptism would aid the child's recovery.If they do not agree, says the guide: 'If it is clear to you that the father is not going to agree to the child beingbaptised, and, as far as you can see, the child is close to death, then, on the pretext of administering some medicine, sprinkle water on his head in some secret way and pronounce the wordsof baptism. O, preacher, should the child die, you would haveopened the gates of heaven for this child. Is this not a good deed?Now, if every preacher were to devote himself to his work, then how many children would they send to heaven in ayear?' " (Shourie, page 7-8)

Shourie goes on to question the motives of Mother Teresa.
Just how strongly Gandhi felt about Christian missionaries in India can be gauged from his recorded comments:

1. Gandhi's writing: "The cultured Hindu society has admitted itsgrievous sin against the untouchables. But the effect of Christianity upon India in general...has been disastrous." (Shourie, p.6)

2. Gandhi to Krezenski, a visiting professor of Philosophy from Poland, who had told him that Catholicism was the only true religion : "The idea of conversion, I assure you is the deadliest poison that ever sappedthe fountain of truth." (Shourie, p.11)

3. Gandhi to a visiting missionary nurse: "The other day a missionary descended on a famine area with money in his pocket, distributedit among the famine-stricken, converted them to his fold, took charge of their temple and demolished it. This is outrageous. This friend goes and gets it demolished at the hands of the very men who only a little while ago believedthat God was there." (Shourie, p. 17)

4. Gandhiji: "If I had the power and could legislate, I should certainlystop all proselytising." (Collected Works, Vol 61, page 46-47; Shourie, p. 38).

5. Several missionaries tried to convert Gandhi. When they failed, one of the reverend gentlemen, writes Mahadev Desai, "retired with theimprecation...'Mr. Gandhi, soon there will come a day when you will bejudged, not in your righteousness, but in the righteousness of Jesus.' "(Collected Works, Vol 60, p.323; Shourie, p. 240)

காந்தியடிகளும் சேவை செய்வதையே தொழிலாகத்தான் கொண்டிருந்தார். ஆனால், இவர் என்ன தென் ஆப்பிரிக்காவிலும், இங்கிலாந்திலும் சென்று இந்து மதத்தை பரப்புவதற்கான ஆயுதமாகவா மனித சேவையை பயன்படுத்தினார் ?

காந்தியடிகளையே கிறிஸ்துவனாக மாற்ற பலமுறை முயற்சி மேற் கொண்டுள்ளனரே ? இது அடுக்குமா ? இது தேச துரோக செயல் அல்லவா ?

அல்பானிய தெரசா இந்தியாவின் கரும்புள்ளி. உண்மையான ரோசக்கார இந்தியன் அல்பானிய தெரசாவை இன்னொரு முறை புகழ்ந்து பேச மாட்டான். அவருடைய மிஷனரி குள்ளநரிகளுக்கும் உதவ மாட்டான்.
தெரசாவின் பாதையில் பயணித்து கொண்டிருக்கும் ஆயிரக்கணக்கான ஊழியம் செய்பவர்களுக்கும் உதவ மாட்டான். முடிந்தால் அவர்களை நம் புனித நாட்டை விட்டு துரத்துவான்.

சேவை என்ற போர்வையில் மதத்தை பரப்பும் அனைத்து கிறிஸ்தவ மிஷனரிகளையும் மூட வேண்டும். இந்தியாவில் உள்ள அனைத்து கிறிஸ்தவ மிஷனரிகளுமே இதே கொள்களை கொண்டிருப்பதால், அனைத்தையுமே இந்தியாவை விட்டு துரத்த வேண்டும்.
